FINAL METHOD

this method is very powerful and will (almost) always work

1. fly up to be level with the meteor
2. sand down the meteor untill it is perfectly smooth
3. aim the meteor to an empty patch of land (preferably solid)
4. drop a banana peel at the landing point
5. put ice under the banana peel
6. when the meteor lands the peel will slip due to the ice and it will go around the world and hit the meteor from the other side launching it to a differernt galaxy
7. you saved earth.
